Our Focus

NextEnergy Group is focused on developing, investing in and managing solar energy infrastructure assets and complementary technologies, such as energy storage.

Creating prosperity

We recognise that our role in society goes beyond accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy.
For this reason, sustainability at NextEnergy Group means generating prosperity in a way that benefits Nature and People and all our stakeholders.

Climate Transition and Net Zero Strategy

Climate change poses physical and transitional risks. It is a primary driver of nature loss, and it threatens livelihoods. Renewable energy is not only an economic and effective way to mitigate climate change, but also one which ensures shared prosperity.

NextEnergy Group’s core business activities are focused on generating climate-related positive impacts through the avoidance of carbon emissions. We are working to adapt our business to meet with, or exceed, the latest and most ambitious climate science recommendations. Our ultimate aim is to contribute to achieving the goals and targets of the Paris Agreement.

Our Climate Transition and Net Zero Plan is aligned with the UK Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT) framework and the recognised international frameworks to which the TPT makes reference, such as the TCFD, ISSB and the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). The Group’s climate-related science-based targets will be validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

Nature Strategy

Nature is key to our prosperity. At NextEnergy Group, we envision a future where every individual and business activity acts to halt and reverse nature loss to enable full nature recovery over the long-term. For this reason, nature is one of the three priority areas in our Sustainability Framework.

Our activities cover all stages of an asset’s lifecycle. This allows us to co-create the best possible outcomes for clean energy and nature. Crucially, we do this together with our landowners and communities.

We are committed to contributing our part to realising the goals and targets of the KM-Global Biodiversity Framework. We implement this commitment through a delivery framework which is aligned with the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) and the Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), of which NextEnergy Group is an Early Adopter.

Supply Chain Responsibility

Ensuring an ethical and responsible solar supply chain is fundamental to this mission. We are committed to being at the forefront of efforts to proactively promote sustainable sourcing within the solar industry.

We have developed a robust and holistic responsible sourcing approach to address ESG topics within our value chain.

This includes:

  • ensuring our supply chain policies meet and exceed relevant national and international standards;
  • undertaking comprehensive due diligence on our suppliers;
  • proactively supporting industry action to drive best practice.

Health and Safety

At NextEnergy Group, Health and Safety (H&S) is a top priority, reflecting our commitment to the well-being of our employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

We foster a strong safety culture across all our operations, ensuring that every individual operates in a safe and secure environment.

Through continuous training, rigorous risk assessments, and adherence to best-in-class safety protocols, we maintain the highest standards of occupational health and safety.

Our vision is for a nature positive future because we recognise that our continued success not only depends on leading the clean energy transition, but also safeguarding nature and people“.
